nurse initiated POCUS for peripheral access (NIPPA)

A half-day education intensive developed to up-skill emergency department and remote practice nurses. This program provides nurses with the skills necessary to perform ultrasound-guided peripheral vein cannulation under the toughest vascular access circumstances. With a focus on hands-on simulation with vascular phantoms, the course concurrently  provides orientation to ultrasound knobology and physics principles.

ADVANCED CARDIAC COURSE

A one day cardiac tour-de-force designed for practitioners who already possess basic echo skills. With an emphasis on scanning time, this course has a participant to instructor and machine ratio of 3:1 and introduces the concepts of valve assessment.

CARDIAC MASTER CLASS

A two day course focused on developing skills in quantitative assessment of systolic function, advanced haemodynamic assessment, valvular pathology, and right ventricular dysfunction.  Designed for intensive care and emergency medicine advanced trainees and consultants who do not possess formal echo qualifications, practitioners must already be comfortable wielding a phased array probe and managing deranged physiology.   This is the critical care intensive that gives you the skills needed to finesse your management of sick hearts and lungs. Not appropriate if it's your first cardiac rodeo.

musketeer progam overview

The course is designed to be run as a two day intensive, with a skills consolidation day several weeks after the intensive.  We have tailored this at times to fit in with rostering constraints and access limitations to venues and machines. We've also tailored the budget for junior doctors - we're clearly stupid enough to be motivated by ideology rather than money.
